Triphala

Triphala is a form of herbal mixture that has been use in Ayurveda for more than a millennium. It is traditionally known for supporting and strengthening digestive health in a natural way. Triphala is a Sanskrit name that means - The 3 Fruits - and is an equal combination of Haritaki (Terminalia Chebula), Amalaki (Emblica Officinalis) and Bibhitaki (Terminalia Bellirica).

The individual characteristics of each of these fruits make up a potent formula that is used for numerous cleansing and support roles. Haritaki, known as the King of Herbs by the Tibetans, is known for its digestive relaxing, anti-inflammatory properties and restorative effects on the brain and heart. Amalaki is considered a Treasure of Ayurveda and is known for its rejuvenating characteristics. It is also known as a powerful antioxidant and is a great source of Vitamin C. Bibhitaki is the third potent rejuvenator that also has great cleansing qualities. The cleansing effects target the muscles, blood, and tissues in the body, and this fruit is also known as the Immunity Fruit.

Triphala is most commonly used as a digestive tonic but it has other noteworthy benefits as well. As it is made up of these three powerful fruits, Triphala can be used as a daily tonic for its nourishing qualities that cleanse the blood, muscle and fat tissues so that the body can continue to function normally. It is also believed to nurture the voice, strengthen hair roots and enrich natural hair color.
